Don't you love skiing? I love it because it's constantly changing. The snow conditions. The terrain, the weather, and it's difficult, it's not an easy thing to do. It's kind of like you're having to do several things at once. Like pat your head and rub your stomach, that kind of thing, right? And you know there's all sorts of techniques and rules and so on. But there's really only one rule that always applies, and that is don't fall.
Right, whatever kind of skier you are. But let's put that in a positive way. Don't fall means actively balance yourself and do that while you're skiing. So suppose I was to say to you while you're skiing, you're skiing along and all of a sudden there's a earth quake, or a loud noise. What would you do, you'd instinctively balance yourself by flexing your ankles, right. Flexing your ankles, probably get your hands apart. And you'd feel the snow with your feet and legs like that. And that's what that's about.
While I’m skiing I’m balancing my self, and then rebalancing by standing up. Or how about if you're on a little boat and it's pounding into the waves. You'd be flexing and extending like so. With the boat in the waves to balance yourself.
So try that. While you're turning, with no interruption in the turning, see if you can move your feet and legs for balance you'll be doing two things at one time which isn't easy, but you'll end up as a better skier because you'll have more balance. Give it a try, I hope it works for you.
