The story of Red Mountain, and how a mining territory was converted into one of the great undiscovered ski destinations of the world, is really a story about teamwork and community support. It is about an avid group of skiers who drew from the resources in their community, and the companies they worked for (namely Cominco), and used good old-fashioned initiative and elbow grease to achieve a vision which, when examined fifty years later,almost seems impossible.
