Ski Television:
What's up this week?
Check out the Broadcast Schedule for the latest show information.Show 12 Synopsis:
This week, Joe Lammers visits a Hollywood favourite, Sun Valley, Idaho. Opened in 1936 by the Union Pacific Railroad, Sun Valley is America’s first destination resort. The resort became an instant success, visited by European nobility and Hollywood royalty. Bright, sunny days with comfortable temperatures combined with long, wide-open groomed runs, powder bowls, incredible scenery and Western hospitality will make a visit to Sun Valley second to none.
On the Race Report, we explore the history of the GMC Cup. It was 1969 and Olympic champion Nancy Greene-Raine, fresh off her Olympic win, approached GM Canada with the concept of creating a strong Canadian series for up-and-coming Canadian alpine racers. The original Pontiac Cup series was launched, and out of it came some of Canada’s best alpine racers, including Kathy Kreiner, Gerry Sorensen, Laurie Graham, Karen Percy and the Crazy Canucks. Forty years later, the GMC Cup series is continuing to serve as the ultimate training ground for Canada's World Cup stars.
On this week’s Personal Performance Tip, Josh Foster explains how tuned equipment will help tune up your skiing.
